Orthoceras Fossil “Book” from Erfoud, Draa-Tafilalet, Morocco

A large and quite attractive specimen of polished Orthoceras fossils from Morocco. It features an over four pound piece of Orthoceras cleverly carved into the shaped of a book. Even though much of this material is available, these “books” are very hard to find; I was lucky to find one dealer with a few of these at the Tucson show several years ago. This particular book is very special in that it has “THE FOSSIL BOOK” engraved on the side.
