Chalcopyrite from Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China

A large and quite brilliant three-mineral combination from the Yaogangxian mine in Hunan, China. It features a large-cabinet sized plate of sharply terminated Quartz crystals which are hosting several groups of superbly crystallized, bright-gold Chalcopyrites. There are also countless tiny wine-red Sphalerite crystals sprinkled over the Quartz, adding a nicely contrasting bit of color to an already impressive composition.
