A unique and quite striking specimen of golden Pyrite, green (prasem) Quartz, and purple Fluorite crystals from the Shangbao mine in Hunan, China, mined before 2002. This kind of Quartz was featured in the March-April, 2004 issue of “Rocks and Minerals” magazine where the author used the term “artichoke Quartz” to describe its unusual growth habit. It features numerous interjoined cubes of shiny golden Pyrite of all sizes attached to a “forest” of light-green Quartz, and accompanied by some nicely contrasting layers of lovely purple Fluorite. Presents nicely for display as pictured, with lots of fine details for you to explore all over.
